Look What's On

  • Sports Day will be on the field next term on Wednesday 18th June:
9.30 - 11.30am KS2
12.30 - 1pm Nursery 
1.15 - 3.10pm Reception and KS1
  • Year 5 have a Pilgrim workshop on the 26th June (in school). They will be creating costumes to hopefully wear at the Canterbury Medieval Pageant Parade on the Saturday. 
  • There will be a meeting about the Kent Test on Monday 2nd June at 3.25pm in the hall.  There will also be a meeting at 2.50pm on the same day to discuss the Residential. 
  • We are pleased to announce that we have made a successful application to The Bedgebury Foundation for funding for two more of our staff members to become licenced Thrive Practitioners. We're very grateful to the Foundation, who have provided us with considerable support over the past three academic years.

  • We are thrilled to announce that we have won a Local School Nature Grant. Many thanks to Mrs Sanger for her hard work! Please see message below:

  • On the 19th May Reception classes will go on a trip to the library!
  • Swifts last swimming lesson will be on  Tuesday 20th May.  
  • Year 4 Goldfinches will start swimming lessons at Kingsmead Swimming Pool on Tuesday 3rd June 2025. Your child will need to bring a swimming costume / trunks and a towel in. Goldfinch Class will attend lessons every Tuesday afternoon starting on Tuesday 3rd June for 7 weeks until Tuesday 15th July.   The cost is £1 per lesson (£7 for the full block of lessons). This can be paid via Arbor.
  • School Nurses will be visiting on Wednesday 9th July to carry out vision screening on Reception children.  
  • We have arranged for our uniform supplier to start selling purple hoodies with our logo on it for PE.  If you wish to purchase one, the link is below, children can wear them rather than any other hoodies/jumpers in PE.  These are only for PE, and not to be worn instead of school uniform jumpers.

  • Instrument Lessons
    At St. John’s we currently offer piano and violin lessons that run throughout the school day every Friday.  You can apply for one-to-one, paired or group lessons through the Kent Music Website: https://www.kent-music.com/music-lessons/ There are a range of instruments that you can learn from a Kent Music Teacher at school or at a local music centre. 
    Students with Lessons in Kent Schools: If you have an approved lesson with any music provider in a Kent school, you can apply for financial assistance.  There are many financial support options available to support families with the cost of the lessons and/or instrument hire https://www.kent-music.com/financial-assistance/
